A menudo me preguntan porqué fotografío principalmente gente mayor. Algunos han llegado, incluso, a acusarme de falta de sensibilidad y respeto, de hacerlo porque son “presa” fácil de mi cámara. Nada más lejos de la realidad, siento una profunda admiración y respeto por las personas mayores. Sus rostros, sus arrugas, sus andares cansino son un reflejo de sabiduría, de los años vividos. Yo tengo la fortuna de vivir en pleno centro de Madrid, en la que viven muchas personas mayores, las cuales salen a la calle diariamente, con sus bastones, sus muletas, con su paso lento. Yo me detengo y les fotografío tal cual son. Luego comparto esas fotos de gente mayor anónima con el máximo respeto.
Yo quiero que, cuando sea mayor, alguien me fotografíe con el cariño con el que yo les fotografío a ellos

I love that you photograph older people Luis and can feel that you do so with respect. There are not so many photographers that shoot people of this age, preferring nubile and sublime youngsters over the less agile, less beautiful old people. I think what you do is important and inclusive. I started a project of my own with old people at it’s centre, I was looking at the “invisibility” of older people in contemporary cities, (sadly it hasn’t come to fruition) so it’s wonderful to hear that’s not the case in Madrid. Respect to you sir!
